Why Israel?

An introduction to my blog!

Thanks for following my blog as I share about my experiences in Israel. Just in case I haven’t told you in person, let me explain what I’m doing in this unique country.

In June 2019 I decided to apply for the Gandel Holocaust Education Scholarship. The purpose of the scholarship is to help Australian teachers teach the Holocaust better. I first heard about this when I was at the Sydney Jewish Museum on a teacher Professional Learning afternoon. The thought of applying made me both excited and nervous for a few reasons:

• Angus and I had only recently married
• Interviews make me very nervous!
• I had never applied for a scholarship before.

But with the encouragement of my husband and lovely History department, I applied and was accepted! I wanted to find a way to share about my experience in such a unique place and what I learnt along the way. Stay tuned.
